This year we will be working with the Youth Exhibition Poultry Association's A.C.E program. For the kids who want to turn them into the APA Youth program, they are a series of record books that need to be filled out and completed before their 18th birthday. Youth who complete the first three notebooks have the opportunity to become a certified showmanship judge at the age of 16. After completing the 4th notebook, the youth has the opportunity to enter the "pre-apprentice judges program". There are 4 different levels and you must be age 8 to start the first level. Any child age 8 or above who is starting the program must start with the Coop Tender Notebook (yes, that means if you are 14 and just starting, you need to start with the level 1).
For kids age 5-7 there is a Pee Wee level which is an introduction to record keeping.
For anyone who does not want to become a showmanship judge or enter the pre-apprentice program, record books can be handed into your leader for approval. No matter what your goals are, we plan to use these record books this year since they are geared strictly towards poultry. Record books are 10$ and a YEPA membership is 8$.
